What guests say

Topas Ecolodge

Guests come for the view and the pools - stone bungalows with balconies looking down the Muong Hoa Valley, two heated infinity pools facing the terraces, and staff who are warm and attentive. Guided treks into the villages and the breakfast buffet are consistently praised. There are no TVs or fridges by design, restaurant prices feel high, and fog can hide the view for days.

Getting about: the lodge is 45 minutes from Sapa by a rough road, so evenings are spent on site - a free shuttle runs to town twice a day, golf carts move guests around the hillside, and the transfer from Hanoi is a long five to seven hours.

Topas Ecolodge - common questions

About this hotel, and about staying in Sapa.

What bungalow types are there?

Four: the 28.5m² Premium Executive Bungalow with a private balcony; the 56m² two-storey Garden Suite with living room and stone bathtub; the 60m² two-storey Deluxe Suite with heated floors, close to the pools and spa; and the Pool Villa with a private eco-heated pool and veranda. All take either one king or two twin beds.

Where is the lodge and what is nearby?

It is in Lech Dao village, Ban Ho commune, inside Hoang Lien National Park, about 18 km south of Sapa town. There are no shops or restaurants within walking distance, but guided walks to Red Dao and Tay villages start from the lodge and free bikes are provided.

Is breakfast included?

Yes. A buffet breakfast at Restaurant 360 is included with every bungalow, and it is part of the Few Days rate.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 11:00. The free shuttle from Sapa is timed to arrive around check-in, leaving town at 14:00 and returning from the lodge at 10:00.

Is it suitable for families?

Yes. The suites and villas take two adults with two or three children under 12 on the sofa bed, wooden cots are available for infants, and the pools are heated. Paths between bungalows are steep in places, so buggies are of limited use.
