Da Nang Hotels

Where to stay in Da Nang, from the long beach strip to the buzz of the riverside city. These are coastal stays we know and trust, each one easy to fold into a private central Vietnam itinerary.

Where to stay in Da Nang

Da Nang is central Vietnam's easy pleasure, a long ribbon of golden beach with a modern city at its back. Where you stay sets the tone, from a beach-front room by the sand to a riverside base in the thick of the city.

The city splits into a few distinct areas, each with its own character. Below is how we think about choosing between them, how many nights to give Da Nang, and the questions we are asked most before booking. You can pair any stay with our Da Nang tours and the wider centre of Vietnam.

Choosing where to stay in Da Nang

The city's areas suit different travellers. Here is who each one is for.

The beach strip

My Khe and My An

The long sweep of sand along Vo Nguyen Giap, lined with resorts and beach bars. For travellers who want to wake up by the sea and stroll to breakfast on the sand.

The city centre

Han River

Around the river and the Dragon Bridge, close to markets, restaurants and nightlife. Handy for getting around and for anyone who prefers a city base to a beach one.

The lively quarter

An Thuong

A walkable grid of cafes, bars and small hotels a block back from My An beach. For younger travellers and anyone who likes to eat and drink on foot.

The quieter south

Non Nuoc

The southern beaches below the Marble Mountains, home to larger resorts and calmer sand. For a restful stay with more space, and an easy hop to Hoi An.

The headland

Son Tra Peninsula

The green peninsula of hidden coves and secluded resorts below the Lady Buddha statue. It suits travellers who want seclusion and jungle-meets-sea over the busier beach strip.

The northern beaches

Nam O and Xuan Thieu

The quieter beaches north of the city towards the Hai Van Pass, with a handful of newer resorts. For a calmer stretch of sand away from the main strip.

How long to stay in Da Nang

Da Nang works as a beach break in its own right or a comfortable base for the central coast, with Hoi An and Hue both within easy reach.

1 to 2 nights

The quick stop

Enough for beach time and the headline sights if you are passing between Hoi An and Hue.

2 to 3 nights

The comfortable stay

Our usual suggestion. Beach mornings, Ba Na Hills or Son Tra, and the food and nightlife to fill the evenings.

4 nights or more

The regional base

Use Da Nang as your hub and add day trips to Hoi An and Hue, or the drive over the Hai Van Pass.

Where to stay in Da Nang - common questions

Where is the best area to stay in Da Nang?

The My Khe and My An beach strip is the easy choice for a beach holiday, with resorts along the sand and the An Thuong cafe quarter a block back. The riverside city centre suits anyone who prefers to be near markets and nightlife, while Non Nuoc in the south is quieter and more spacious. We match the area to whether you want beach or city.

Should I stay in Da Nang or Hoi An?

Da Nang is a modern beach city with more nightlife, high-rise hotels and better transport links, while Hoi An is smaller, older and far more atmospheric. Many travellers split their time, or base in one and day-trip to the other, since they are only about forty minutes apart.

How many nights do you need in Da Nang?

Two to three nights suits the beach, Ba Na Hills, the Marble Mountains and Son Tra at a relaxed pace. One night works if you are only passing through, while using Da Nang as a base for day trips can easily fill four or five.

Is Da Nang good for a beach holiday?

Yes. My Khe is a long, soft stretch of sand with warm water and easy waves, backed by resorts and beach bars. February to May brings the calmest seas and driest weather, while October to December is the wettest and roughest.

How far is Da Nang from Hoi An?

Hoi An is around thirty kilometres south, roughly a forty-minute drive by private car or taxi, so the two pair easily. You can base in either and reach the other in under an hour.
