Guests come for the pool and the beach - a large, clean saltwater pool with plenty of sunbeds, day beds between the pool and the sand, and a manager and team who are named again and again for their kindness. The restaurant food and breakfast get good marks. Rooms are clean but on the small side, with thin walls, and some feel dated.

Getting about: An Bang's beach bars and restaurants are a minute or two on foot, and the Old Town is about 5 km - a ten-minute taxi or a 20-minute bike ride. Weekend music from nearby beach clubs can carry into the rooms.
