The Itinerary

How your 3 days / 2 nights unfolds.

Day 1
Hanoi → Ha Long → Lan Ha Bay
Morning transfer from Hanoi to Tuan Chau, board the Capella with lunch as the cruise sails into Lan Ha Bay and the Frog Lagoon area. Afternoon of the waterslide, Oasis pool, kayaking or SUP and mini-golf, then a sunset happy hour, cooking demonstration and fusion dinner.
Day 2
Lan Ha Bay → Viet Hai → Ba Trai Dao
After Tai Chi and breakfast, take a speedboat to Viet Hai pier and cycle or ride an electric car 6km through the ancient village. Kayak to a fish farm, then swim and sunbathe at the crystal-clear Ba Trai Dao Beach. Return for a Vietnamese tea ceremony, a sunset happy hour and dinner.
Day 3
Lan Ha Bay → Hanoi
A final Tai Chi session and light breakfast, then the Dark & Bright Cave by bamboo boat. Return to shower and check out around 09:30, with a buffet brunch as the cruise heads back to Tuan Chau for the transfer to Hanoi.

Our experience of

Capella Cruise

We've hosted guests aboard the Capella and been over her ourselves, and she's the one we point families and playful couples toward. She's one of only two overnight boats on the bay with a waterslide, and it earns its keep - we've had everyone from small children to a grandmother in her seventies name it the best part of the trip.

Beyond the slide there's an all-season infinity pool and jacuzzi, a poker and cigar club and even a small theatre, so there's genuinely something for everyone once the excursions are done. The staff are kind and gracious, the cabins spacious, and the pool deck becomes the social heart of the boat at sunset over Lan Ha.

What we've found: pick the Capella when you want fun on board, not just off it - it's made for families and groups who want the bay and a bit of a party without losing comfort.
