Our experience of
We've hosted guests aboard the Du Yen and been over her ourselves, and she's the one we point people to when they want something with a sense of place. The 26 cabins are chic and generously sized, with full-length glass and private balconies, and the Royal Suite adds a private jacuzzi for honeymooners.
What sets her apart is the cultural side, done sincerely rather than as a gimmick: a tea ceremony, a cooking class, and the chance to wear traditional Vietnamese dress for photographs against the karsts. The dining is a highlight, Vietnamese flavours with a bit of finesse, and there's a spa aboard. She sails the classic core of the bay - Sung Sot Cave, Luon Cave and Titop Island - with kayaking and swimming along the way.
What we've found: choose the Du Yen for couples and anyone who wants the scenery plus a real taste of Vietnamese culture and food, not just a boat ride.
