Tam Coc Retreat Resort

The resort's own site publishes three grades - the Deluxe Garden View duplex bungalow at about 40m², the Suite Garden Bungalow at about 45m² with a large bed and a sofa, and the Family Suite Villa at about 60m² with two bedrooms and a living room. Booking sites also list an 80m² family villa with two adjoining rooms. All have a balcony and garden or pool outlook.

The resort is at Hai Nham village, Ninh Hai, Hoa Lu, inside the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and in the Tam Coc area. Thung Nham Bird Park is about 1.9 km away and Mua Cave roughly 11 km by road. Bich Dong Pagoda and the Tam Coc boat pier are both short rides, and the Hoa Lu ancient capital is a little further north.

Yes. A full breakfast is served each morning from 6.30 to 9.30 and is included in the rate. The kitchen covers Asian, European and Japanese menus and offers Tam Coc specialities such as goat and snail. A cafe on site serves coffee, tea, smoothies and cake through the day.

Check-in is from 14.00, with the desk taking arrivals until about 23.30. Check-out is by 12.00 noon. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so bags can be left before check-in or after check-out.

Yes. The Family Suite Villa has two bedrooms, each with a 2m by 2m bed, plus a living room, and takes four to six people. Booking sites also list an 80m² family villa sleeping four to five. The children's pool is joined to the main pool rather than separate, and the Deluxe Garden takes two adults and one child under six.

Tam Coc is roughly 100 km south of Hanoi and the drive takes about two hours, largely on the expressway. A private car is the simplest option and the resort can arrange a paid airport transfer. Trains and buses run to Ninh Binh, from which the resort is around 15 minutes by taxi.
