A gentle guided afternoon by bicycle through the Tam Coc rice fields and villages, taking in the Bich Dong cave pagoda and the Thai Vi Temple, timed so you ride back in the golden evening light.
Easy and flat, on quiet country lanes at a relaxed pace, suitable for most fitness levels. It is a gentle ride rather than a workout.
A three-level temple built into a limestone cliff above a lily pond, one of the prettiest spots in the area, reached by a short walk and some steps.
The rice is greenest from around May to early June and turns golden before the harvests in late May and September, though the fields look lovely for much of the year.
