Escape the city for a full day in the Can Gio biosphere reserve, a vast mangrove wilderness on Ho Chi Minh City's southern edge. Glide by canoe into the Vam Sat eco-zone and its bird reserve, spot crocodiles and bats, climb Tang Bong Tower for views across the forest, and meet the resident monkeys on Monkey Island. You will also visit the hidden Rung Sac guerrilla base, tucked deep in the mangroves.

Travel by boat or canoe into the natural bird reserve, at its best from May to October.

Visit the crocodile swamp and bat lagoon, then climb Tang Bong Tower.
