Twenty suites on a 75-metre steel hull, named after the Bình Chuẩn - the steamship of Vietnamese magnate Bạch Thái Bưởi - and built around that story: an onboard art gallery, a library in his name, a wine cellar, a spa and a top-deck pool.

The Itinerary

3 Days / 2 Nights, hour by hour.

Day 1

Tuan Chau - Lan Ha Bay - Ba Trai Dao

11:30-11:45Arrive at the Heritage lounge, No. 28B Tuan Chau International Marina, for refreshments and check-in.

12:30Board the ship - a welcome drink, the safety briefing, and your suite.

12:40Cast off toward Lan Ha Bay and the Cat Ba archipelago.

13:00Lunch is served in L'Indochine Restaurant.

15:30Tender across to Ba Trai Dao, the Three Peach Beaches, for kayaking and swimming - Tra Bau if conditions favour it.

17:00Back onboard for afternoon tea and a Vietnamese cooking class.

17:00-19:00Happy hour as the sun goes down over the Gulf of Tonkin.

19:15Dinner in Le Tonkin Restaurant.

21:30Squid fishing on the first deck, a film, or the bar on the third.

Day 2

Lan Ha Bay - Viet Hai Village - Ba Trai Dao

06:15Vovinam on the sundeck - the Vietnamese martial art, in place of the usual Tai Chi - with coffee and pastries.

06:30-07:45A full breakfast in Le Tonkin Restaurant.

08:30A speedboat carries you to Viet Hai Village; cycle or ride an electric car through the Cat Ba rainforest and visit a traditional house.

13:00Lunch in the village, or onboard the day boat.

13:30Swimming and kayaking at Ba Trai Dao.

15:30Tender back to the ship for cocktails.

17:30Afternoon tea, the sunset, and a Vietnamese cooking class.

19:30A fine-dining dinner onboard.

21:00Squid fishing, or the bar.

Day 3

Lan Ha Bay - Dark & Bright Cave - Tuan Chau

06:15Vovinam on the sundeck at sunrise.

06:45A light breakfast onboard - or, for a surcharge, a leisurely one by the pool on the third deck.

07:15A bamboo boat carries you into the Dark & Bright Cave, hung with stalactites.

09:00-09:30Return to the ship and check out of your suite.

09:30-10:00Brunch is served as the ship cruises back to the mainland.

10:30Disembark and conclude the cruise.
